Church of South India re-affirms her commitment to safegaurd the institution of marriage and family through the Marriage Counselling Workshop organised by the Department of Pastoral Concerns. 50 clergy both men and women from CSI Dioceses are attending an intensinve training program on Marriage Counselling to fecilitate similar training workshops in thier respective dioceses and regions. Ultimately, the Church of South India envisions to make Pre-Marrital Counselling a mandatory pre-requisitive for marriage with an aim to facilitate a stable family and society.
The General Secretary of CSI, Rev. Dr. D. R. Sadananda has inaugurated the program in a solemn service led by Rev. K. James Cecil Victor, Director, Department of Pastoral Concerns and the participants. Dr. Sadananda reiterated the importance of meeting the social, material and spiritual needs in the family where one experiences the meaning of love, forgiving, healing, sharing and self-emptying. The session on Biblical foundation of Marriage was facilitated by Rev. Dr. Aruldhas; sessions on Roles and Expectations of Wife and Husband was facilitated by Rev. Giftus Joshua and Mrs. Sopna Joshua. The participants shared their views in the group discussions that have steered the sessions meaningfully.
