Children's Assembly held at CSI Centre, Chennai concluded with a clear statement by the children that Discrimination in any form is bad. Children can make a difference by treating all equal and helping the needy. Their deliberations on "Just and Inclusive Communities: Children can make a Difference" were sparked by the Rt.Rev.J. George Stephen, Bishop in Madras, by his inaugural address. Children led the worship that was filled with music and action songs. After which Rev. Dr. Ipe Joseph, the General Secretary of AISSA and Rev. K. James Cecil Victor, the Director of Pastoral Concerns, Synod have facilitated the assembly. Children from CSI, Marthoma, Salvation Army, Baptist , Lutheran Churches have discussed on various issues pertaining to children with reference to just and unjust conditions; discrimination and abuse. They shared their stories. After they discussed how children can make a difference, they presented in the plenary. All the participants were given the assembly mementos. Children have expressed their joy for the opportunity to express their feelings, share their stories and make new friends. Ms. Andrea, the President of the Assembly conducted the assembly very efficiently. The true ecumenical spirit was visible in the children's assembly. Thanks be to God for there is hope for the Church.
