Chennai: "Lenten season should be used to edify ourselves. One of the main false ideas we have to shred off is that believing in Christ is a profit- making process. Instead, belief in Christ's passion, death and resurrection call us to take up his cross. The ideals of Christianity don't promote selfish personal salvation; instead, the Christians are called to lead a life of fellowship in which loving each other is the norm. Salvation happens in the communities", told Rev. Dr. Vincent Rajkumar, the Director of CISRS during he led the lenten retreat organised for the Directors and staff of the Church of South India (CSI) Synod Secretariat.
The Retreat, which was organised at the CSI Kingdom of God Church in Saidapet, Chennai, was commenced with the Holy Communion Worship led by Rev. Dr. Daniel Rathnakara Sadananda, the General Secretary of the CSI Synod.
Area Chairman Rev. Paul Jesudas and Rev. Dn. Lazar of the CSI Madras Diocese along with the church committee members of the Kingdom of God Church helped the Synod Secretariat to conduct the Retreat in this church.
