Mission in the changing society; Working together with the younger generation- South Asia Forum meets in Sweden

The South Asia Forum, the network of the European Partners of the Church of South India, Church of North India, Church of Bangladesh and Church of Pakistan was held in Uppsala, Sweden under the theme “Mission in the changing society; Working together with the younger generation.” The General Secretary Rev Dr D. R. Sadananda represented the Church of South India in the conference and informed the Forum of CSI Youth initiatives Such as MITHRA, Youth for Peace, YaAA!, DARE to DREAM, Discipleship programme, Student Chaplaincy, and Journeying with the Elderly. He said that the Church of South India, an effective instrument of God's mission with its renewed commitment for the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed believes in the potentials and creative energies of the younger generations. The Church affirms their spontaneous zeal for values like Justice, peace and equality filled with never-ending newness and enthusiasm in dreaming and envisioning communities of faith and hope. Through the Youth Department at the Synod secretariat and the Youth network at the Diocesan grass-root levels, the Church always accompanies the youth in their fears, aspirations and goals engaging with them in meaningful conversation and interventions.

Apart from the hosts Church of Sweden and the Uniting Church of Sweden, The Church of England, Anglican Communion, EMS Germany, Methodist Church in UK, Church of Scotland, USPG, CMS, ICCO, Kirk in Actie, Christian Aid, Diocesan link groups, and all major European partners of CSI participated in the South Asian Forum.
