CSI Mission Directors Meet-2017: Equipping Mission Workers Towards Building Christ Communities!

Mission and Evangelism Department: On behalf of the Mission and Evangelism Department, CSI Mission Directors Meet -2017 was organized on 13-14 December 2017 at the CSI Synod Centre, Royapettah, Chennai. The theme for the meet was “Equipping Mission Workers Towards Building Christ Communities”. The Directors Meet was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. V. Prasada Rao (Deputy Moderator, CSI) and The Rt. Rev. Dr. J. J. Christhdoss (Chairman for Mission and Evangelism Synod) has presided over the Meet. 

On the First day of the Meet, Rev.K.James Cecil Victor has conducted the Morning worship and Rev.Dr. Jayachitra Lalitha has conducted the Evensong. Rev. Asir Ebenezer (Director for SEVA), Rev. Sunil Raj Philip (Director for Communication and Adivasi & Dalit Concern Department), Rev. K. James Cecil Victor (Director for Pastoral Concern), Rev. Solomon Paul (Director for Youth), Rev. Dr. Jayachitra Lalitha (Director for Christian Education) and Dr.Mathew Koshy Punnakkadu ( Director for Ecological Concerns) have presented the Panel on “ Equipping Mission Workers Towards Building Christ Communities”. Synod Mission Director Rev. Maxcin John presented the “Mission Agenda-2022”- A Future Focus for 2017-2022. There was a face to face group discussion on the theme, Mission Agenda and panel presentations.

On the Second day, Rev. David Naik (Rayalaseema) and Rev.Leo Samuel (Vellore) have led the Morning Worship and The Rt.Rev.Dr.J.J.Christdoss( Bishop and Chairman) has led the morning Bible Study on Mathew 25: 31- 46. The Rt. Rev. Timothy Ravinder (Bishop in Coimbatore) conveyed greetings to the Meet. The Rev.Dr. D. Rathnakara Sadananda (General Secretary, CSI) has delivered Thematic Message. Through the Thematic Message, Rev. Dr.Rathnakara Sadananda reminded that Church is called as the Community and the Church is supposed to proclaim new World Order which is the building Christ Communities where Christ is already present. The Church should become movement rather than institution in which church could able to identify and realize Christ communities.

There were regional level group discussions on Thematic Address and Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala, and Telegu regions actively participated in the group discussion and presented their findings. The Closing Address and Sending out Ceremony was led by The Rt. Rev.Dr.D. Rathnakara Sadanada.

Out of Twenty-Four Dioceses, Thirty-One Delegates from Nineteen CSI Dioceses were participated in the CSI Mission Directors Meet-2017.
