The Daisy Gopal Ratnam Working Women’s Hostel celebrated its Christmas programme on 15th December 2017 in the Conference Hall of the CSI Synod Secretariat. The program was started with a word of prayer by Rev. Maxcin John. The residents sang carols in English, Tamil and Malayalam bringing in the Christmas mood. Rev. Dr. Sadananda, the General Secretary of CSI Synod delivered the Christmas message. He emphasized on the real reason for celebration and encouraged everyone to lead lives that would be like beautiful songs. The gathering was greeted by Rev. James Cecil following which our young friends, Ms. Evelyn and group, sang a beautiful song and lightened our hearts with their sweet voices. The residents then performed a skit based on Christ’s birth in today’s century, reminding us how we often forget ‘Christ’ in Christmas and are busy celebrating through social media. The closing prayer was given by Rev. Dr. Jayachitra, which was followed by the vote of thanks by the warden, Mrs. Suhasini Cecil. Christmas being a time of giving, gifts were distributed to the mess in-charge, electrician and the hostel helper out of money contributed by the residents. It was a joyful evening and the programme ended with a special dinner.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Blessed 2018!
