Karimnagar Diocese affirms rights and safe spaces for Women
Friday, May 26, 2017

The Karimnagar Diocese has moved way forward in bringing Gender equity starting with their groups of churches in Karimnagar, Warangal, Aler and Parkal. They have become the pioneer in forming Internal Complaints Committee at Aler and Parkal. Advocate Dr. Madhuri’s sessions on “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013” and “The protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005” motivated the Women and Men to understand Violence and its legal implications. Around 350 participants (Women and men) was challenged and motivated to take up Gender issues and strive towards Gender equity after understanding these issues in the light of the scripture. The group Chairman Rev Shalu Mathew and group secretary Mrs Santosha took active role in organising the workshop in Parkal. The President of Diocesan Women’s Fellowship Rev.Priscilla Reuben’s efforts along with Mrs Apoleena, Mrs Sneha Kennedy and Mr Devadhanam for organising these trainings during April 2017 and May 2017 under the CSI – Gender Equity Enabling Timetable (GEET) programme is remarkable
