Synod Level Consultation on “Becoming Migrant Friendly Congregation"

The Department of Mission and Evangelism organized Synod level consultation on Migrancy to motivate the Churches to “Become Migrant friendly congregation” from 21st to 23rd September 2016 at CSI Synod Centre on the theme “Knitting Neighborhood”. 30 delegates participated in this consultation.

The consultation was inaugurated by Adv. Robert Bruce, Hon. Treasurer of CSI.  Fr. Sebastian Crossian S. J., Jesuit Migrants service, Chennai delivered the keynote address.

Rt. Rev. A. Dharmaraj Rasalam, Bishop in South Kerala Diocese and Chairman, Mission and Evangelism, CSI Synod,   Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel  S. Thiagarajah, Bishop in Jaffna Diocese,  Rev. Dr. D. Rathnakara Sadananda, General secretary, CSI Synod,    Rev. Dr. Allan Samuel Palanna, Professor, UTC, Bangalore,  Dr. Susan Thomas, President, women’s fellowship president, Madhya Kerala Diocese, Rev. Ebenezer Krubakaran, Presbyter, Madras Diocese, Mr. Stephenson and Anitha Hepsiba, Missionaries to Migrant workers, Madras Diocese, Rev. Raju Jacob, Director Board for Mission, Madhya Kerala Diocese and  Rev. Dr. Mervin Shinoj Boas, Professor, UTC, Bangalore were the resource persons and took various sessions on different subjects.

The closing session was presided over by Rt. Rev. A. Dharmaraj Rasalam, Chairman, Dept. of Mission and Evangelism. Rev. Dr. D. Rathnakara Sadnanda, General Secretary, CSI delivered the closing address and Rev. S. Christopher Vijayan pronounced the vote of thanks. The three-day consultation ended with prayer and benediction by Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel S. Thiagarajah.
