The Commission on Dalits of the National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) makes a call to its member churches and organisations to celebrate the Dalit Liberation Sunday on the 13th November 2016. The theme for this year's Dalit Liberation Sunday is “Administer Justice Daily! Deliver the Oppressed!” (Jeremiah 21:12).
The Synod of the Church of South India (CSI) encourages the churches and institutions under the dioceses to celebrate to the Sunday in order to express the solidarity with the Dalits as well as to highlight the discriminations they face and the rights which are denied to them. The Dalits & Adivasi Concerns Department of CSI reminds that it is very important to observe this day in the wake of the increasing atrocities against Dalits in the present day India. If the local congregations/institutions already have some programme on 13th November 2016, they may think of celebrating this Special day on a later Sunday i.e. on 20th November 2016.
A special worship order prepared by NCCI can be found here.
